Throwback post. 2019-02-21 02:37:45.

My huddle aims to change the narratives on the conversations about race by keeping the focus on issues that matter to us.

In this huddle, we are the center and see the world from our perspectives. This is where we define who we are and unapologetically present those identities to the world. This is about self-determination in the pursuit of reviving or reinventing our civilization.

We are a people with distinctive gifts and values. We are standing up to start a new legacy.
We are either in denial of our status in the USA or we don’t know where we stand. Let’s be clear. Black people are oppressed. We need to know that because it’s the truth. Perhaps, the reason we may not know where we stand is because we have been lied to and I will take it one step further. If what you know was taught to you by the people that have deceived you in the past, you need to be very critical of that knowledge.

If we don’t know where we stand, we may have expectations that can never be met under our current and designated status.

For example, things like justice, equality and freedom are not to be expected when we were never recognized as citizens. We will continue to be treated as lower class citizens and fighting for rights that this racist nation will never extend to its African subjects.

We are oppressed and marginalized not by accident but by design. It’s embedded in our institutions. Those who founded this nation made it so and their descendants can now choose to embrace the of privileged and reject all the evils that went into building this nation. That’s what we are currently facing. A racist nation without any racist.

How did we get here?
Where do we go from here?
