Healing Talk Session

Some will say that I am perpetuating the typical “angry negro” stereotype. I don’t know about you but I am “woke”, {Yes I am taking back control of the term by fully embracing it) . And because my eyes remain open to the continuing oppression of black people worldwide, I am angry.

However I do question where my anger is directed. It is bad enough to be constantly in a state of anger, but worse if this anger is misdirected. I asked myself daily who am I really angry at? How do I turn this anger into something that can benefit all of us and our future generations.

Over the last two weeks, I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer be angry at the white man for the current situation of black people. Before you start citing historical atrocities committed to us at the hands of white supremacy, please pay attention to the word “current.” I cannot fault a people who care about their survival and control more than my people do. It is like getting angry at a snake for biting you because you let your guards down, It is in their nature to dominate and exploit EVERYTHING around them.

We currently have just enough power to end all of this nonsense. But we seem unable or unwilling to come together and collectively fight for equality and do it, as Malcom X said, BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. I think that we should direct our anger inwards. as we are ultimately responsible for the “current”  situation we are in. And maybe after we get tired of being angry we will ACT.

I am eager to hear your opinion. Let’s talk.

About the session: Talking starts the healing process. This is a weekly session to give one another moral support. We talk and express our views on the Black experience. We provide each other non clinical friendly advice on how to cope and deal with our shared challenges. No health and wellness topic is off the table.

When: Every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00pm EST.

We look forward to talking to you every week.

I would like to request for help to be assisted for the sake of my mother's health. She is sick with chronic Asmatic condition which makes her life difficult with prolonged cough. We wish to request for help to relocate her from our rular areas which is very cold and difficult for her to survive. All the triggers of her condition are present in that area. Helping her out to relocate will be the number one help. Thankyou in advance for your kind gesture towards a sick mother.
