Searching for Enemies

Is it a human instinct to search for enemies where none exist or is the animosity between Diaspora Blacks and Africans just the product of ignorance?

Recently, while browsing on Youtube, I came across a video by a South African man who was going off on Pan-Africanism stating that it’s the product of foolish non-African Blacks who believe that all Black people are one people.

Of course, being quick to anger and a little ignorant myself I had to respond so here is the video and this is what I said…….

You lack perspective brother. First let me say that if it wasn’t for many race conscious black people in the west such as Marcus Garvey, your freedom from white rule wouldn’t have come as soon as it did. Most of us diaspora Blacks as well as most of you Africans suffer from the same lack of perspective that you exhibit in this video. 30 years of free living since the end of Apartheid has erased your pain so now you can come on youtube and attempt to expound wisdom.
Let me say that I believe Mugabe was a hero. If that makes me an unwise pan-African then so be it. I also believe that Mugabe was far from a perfect leader or an ethical person. That has nothing to do with the task he accomplished of showing the white man that Africans can stand up for themselves. Most African leaders are psychologically corrupt as a result of religion, demonic spirituality and greed. Unfortunately, they are exactly what western powers need to maintain control over their populations, (Do a Google search on “Selections not Elections”) which is why things do not change in Africa.
Its cool that you don’t need western Black ideas of racial unity. Just remember that every society on Earth will continue to spiral into chaos until you learn to pursue ways of living based on Ethics and not just Happiness.

In one sense, I can see where he is coming from. We all have a tendency to believe our way is the right way and now that a lot of Diaspora Blacks are repatriating to Africa, a lot of them may feel that they have the solution to solve all of Africa’a problems. His mistake is to associate this kind of thinking with Pan-Africanism, which is all about Black Unity and not self righteousness. Does this guy in the video have a point or are we as Black and African people too ignorant to reconcile or differences?

I am an African here in Africa and whenever I see a diaspora black, am always happy and learn something from him or her. Here in Africa we can't claim that we know or understand the whites better than those in the diaspora, these blacks know them in and out, but we fail to accept this basic reality. Also in everything you must have a bad side.
Just as in Africa not all of us are good so is applicable to the diaspora blacks. However they are wonderful and amazing blacks and we need to give them that respect no matter what,we are one people and let us not be divided among ourselves, because that what the enemies wants from us.
